The Wait Is Part of the Work
Last week, in Pause on Labor Day, I wrote about giving ourselves permission to stop. That still matters today. I happen to personally know quite a few people who are looking for work. These individuals are either just entering the market or have been in it for some time, but can't find relevant work.
When you are out of work, underused, or unsure what comes next, do not rush to call it a failure. Slow seasons can still shape us. They can help us listen, reset, and see more clearly. Waiting can feel heavy. It can make you question yourself. It can make a quiet week feel like a verdict. It is not. The wait is part of the work.
Stay close to people you trust. Keep learning the landscape. Pay attention to where your experience still fits. Your work has value even if it’s not the work you’d hope to be doing.
